It all started last Monday the 14th when I went in for my Dr's appt. My blood pressure was high (the highest so far) and I had +2 protein in my urine. I also had my labs back to say that I did indeed have preeclampsia. BLAH AGAIN! Anyway, the Dr. said I needed to go to the hospital and it was time to induce labor. This was at 5pm and I was like OMG I have so much I need to do! I was able to get in touch with my friend who offered to watch the girls for me. I had to get them ready and last minute things for myself ready as well. Dean and I ended up getting to the hospital around 9pm and that's when things began!!
For the first few hours they didn't do a whole lot. I got my IV in (hurt so bad) and hooked up to the monitors etc. I was able to just hang out until 1am when they put in the cervidil to start the induction. Around 1:40am my contractions started and OMG they friggen hurt. Basically from then on they came anywhere from 1-2 minutes apart and getting stronger and stronger. Fast forward to 6:15am....Dr. comes in to check me out and I am 3cm dilated (I was 2cm when I came into the hospital). I tell her I hurt and want an epidural as soon as possible. Like yesterday would have been good...LOL! Around 6:35am the epi Dr. came in. I loved him...haha...BUT he was showing a student how to do it etc...I was like get a move on here...teach another time!!!!!! Anyway, after the epi kicked in I passed out cold. I mean like seriously almost dead...HAHA! I need to ask Dean but I am sure that my bp dropped to like 83/54 at one point. I remember him asking if I was ok. Who knows? Then around 8:40am my Dr. comes in to check me and to break my water. Dean has also just gone down to get a drink and something to eat so he isn't around for this part. Dr. checks me and I am now 6cm and the water was broken. I instantly felt him move down and asked the Dr. if I should be feeling it. She says yes but if I feel more pressure and if I want to push then call the nurse. About 5 minutes later the nurse comes in and I say I can really feel pressure and it hurts like hell. She checks me and I am now 8cm. After that everything goes nuts. The pressure was crazy and I was ready to push. I know I was yelling that it hurt and she is telling me to breathe! BLAH! The nurse asked me where my husband was and I said downstairs...she finds him on his cell and says you might want to come upstairs NOW! This nurse is running around like a fool getting things together and she also calls for the Dr. and someone else to help. Then I yell...HERE HE COMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sam literally shot out and onto the table. No one was there to catch him. The nurse was turned around and that was that. Poor lil guy...hehe!! About a minute later in comes Dean and I am crying that he missed it all. Then after he is in the Dr. comes in....it was CRAZY! Sam was waiting for no one. He was ready to make his entrance and nothing was going to stop him. Weird thing is that I had preeclampsia with Kennedy and she shot out instantly and both were born at 9am on the dot...weird eh?
Sam is doing great though and so am I!! We are glad to have him home and the girls adore him. Here are a few pictures from today that I took.
